Cheongnamdae located by the lakeside of Daecheong Lake, has the meaning of 'Cheongwa-dae'(Presidential Mansion or the Blue House) in southern part and had been used by the presidents of the Republic of Korea as their presidential offices since 1983.

Covering an area of some 1,844,000㎡, Cheongnamdae is made up of a Golf Range, Tea House, Heliport, Fish Farm, Ogak-Jeong(Pentgonal pavilion) and Choga-Jeong(Thatched pavilion), all of witch surround the main building. Rhus far, five ex-presidents had used it a total of 88 times and it has been open to public since Apr.18, 2003.

It has some 53,000 landscaped trees comprising 100 species and there are also 200 thousands wild flowers comprising 130 species that change their appearance throughout the four seasons. Thanks to a well preserved natural ecosystem, one can see wild boars, elks, lynxes, raccoon dogs, pheasants, cranes and other animals.
